Todays Ride

kiloko: Was Fantastic.. Sun Was Out.. Wind Wasnt A Big Issue.. Went Almost Everywhere. I Had A Nice Lil Chat With A Messenger At The Light. Some Rasclot Driving A Truck Almost Ran Me Over… I Gave Him Thumbs Up For Failing.. Took Some Pictures.. Went To Piedmont.. Watched Folk Play Tennis.. Chilled.. And.. Yeah.. Good Ride Today.

Anyone ever have a toe strap break?

One of mine snapped today when I was trying to stop suddenly at an intersection. Brakeless setup on the fixie + sudden loss of one foot = me sailing into an intersection through a red light and nearly being hit by a car. The strap was barely over a month old! Can anyone suggest a good set that won’t scare me like this again?

So starting tomorrow...

…I’ll officially be bike mechanic and part time bike tour leader at Barton Springs Bikes in Austin, TX. Yeah, its a bum job, but I’m pretty amped about it since I’ll now be able to hang out in Austin with some sort of permanency. So, if you’re ever in Austin and want to rent a bike or go out on a bike tour of the city, you should stop by!
