Hundreds of cyclists join London 'Tour du danger' →
brianvan: I think New York City needs one of these. A cycling sight-seeing tour with a difference took place on Saturday, taking in London’s 10 most dangerous junctions for cyclists. The ride - originally conceived by Cyclists in the City blog as a fact-finding mission with a few friends - struck a resonant chord with readers and campaigners. Word spread quickly, and ultimately several hundred...

What drivers can do to be more cyclist aware. →
…on a motoring website, no less. Preaching to the converted, but this is an article worth passing on to anyone you’d rather not be run over by. And remember, respect needs to be earned - the rules apply to us too. Ride safe. Highlights: By law, a bicycle is a vehicle, so treat it like one. It’s your responsibility to avoid hitting the cyclist, not the responsibility of the cyclist...

lights
I recommend a MiNewt.350 Cordless or a MiNewt.600 Cordless. and then of course there is the MiNewt Mini.300-USB & Plus. I use these for night riding on my mountain bike, cyclocross, and road bike. they are fairly strong so I am very careful mounting it to my helmet while road riding (I don’t want to blind anyone).

What is going on in Oakland?
youngmanhattanite: newsweek: joshsternberg: From Gawker: On the micro, interpersonal level, the highpoint of last night’s drama took place around 7:45 PM, when two protesters standing in the street were hit by a man driving a Mercedes. According to the Mercury News, the driver had been “irritated” by the protesters and just stepped on the gas. Nice display of heartless one percenter...
